UFC 299 saw Sean O’Malley put on a masterclass against Marlon Vera.
Sean O’Malley and Marlon Vera locked horns last night in a highly anticipated rematch. Having previously fought each other back in 2020, it was Vera who won their first matchup.
Going into the rematch, it was believed by many that it would be Marlon Vera who would emerge victorious. However, that did not seem to be the case. It was ‘Suga’ who controlled the fight from start to finish. O’Malley’s footwork and movement caused a lot of trouble to Vera and the Ecuadorian was having trouble finding his feet.

At the end of a very dominant performance, Sean O’Malley retained his title via unanimous decision and avenged his loss to Marlon Vera. With that said about the fight, let’s take a look at how much the UFC bantamweight champion made from the fight at UFC 299.
While the confirmed purses have not been revealed as of yet, an estimate can be made from his last fight. In a report released by Sports Payouts, it was revealed that O’Malley took home an estimated $1.43 million in his last fight against Aljamain Sterling. That said, it is believed that ‘Suga’ will make somewhere around the same range from his fight against Vera at UFC 299.

Sean O’Malley calls out Ilia Topuria for the featherweight championship
After putting on a masterclass against Marlon Vera, Sean O’Malley expressed his desire of wanting to fight Ilia Topuria next. Upon being asked about his future during the octagon interview, ‘Suga’ urged Dana White too book a fight between him and Topuria. He said:
“Dana give me a Jet to Spain, Baby, I’m coming for Ilia Topuria”.
