Michael ‘Venom’ Page is set to make his highly anticipated UFC debut this weekend at UFC 299. For his debut fight, Page will be taking on Kevin Holland. ‘Venom’ is widely considered to be one of the most entertaining welterweights on the planet and is known for his dynamic striking and intricate kickboxing techniques.
Before signing with the UFC, Michael ‘Venom’ Page competed in Bellator for quite some time before leaving the promotion last year. Ahead of his promotional debut this weekend, in this piece we will take a look at how much ‘Venom’ can make from his fight against Holland.
It is worth noting that the confirmed fight purse for the fight is yet to be revealed. However, by taking a look at Page’s previous payouts we can get an estimate. According to a report, the former Bellator star pocketed $100,000 for his last bout in his previous promotion. That said, it is safe to assume that the 36-year-old will most probably make somewhere around the same range for his highly anticipated debut in the UFC.

Michael ‘Venom’ Page once suggested a new rule for trash-talkers in the UFC
Trash-talking has become an integral part of the sport. While it certainly helps in the build-up to the fight for promotions, sometimes fighters tend to cross the line by involving families.
Speaking about the same during an interview with Ariel Helwani last year, Michael ‘Venom’ Page cited Colby Covington’s example and claimed that fighters who cross the line should be fined by the UFC. He said:

“For me, I feel like the UFC could you know, hand out fines. Just do something just to kind of alleviate so people don’t, If you’re going to step over the [line], you know, I’m not going to punish you open to the public because it helps with sales I guess but, there you go, have that fine. Let’s see how often you’re going to want to do things like that. Like similar to a yellow card in football.”

While Michael ‘Venom’ Page offers an interesting take, it is highly unlikely that we will see UFC imposing fines on trash-talking anytime soon.
