The highly anticipated UFC 299 recently concluded. The event took place in Miami, Florida in front of a sold out crowd.
The event was headlined by a UFC bantamweight championship matchup between Sean O’Malley and Marlon Vera. In the co-main event, we saw Dustin Poirier take on Benoit Saint-Denis with a number of other highly exciting matchups.
As far as the fights go, the main event was kicked off with a bantamweight contest between Petr Yan and Song Yadong. After losing his last three fights, Yan returned to the winning column with a decision victory.
Next in line was a welterweight fight between Gilbert Burns and Jack Della Maddalena. After seemingly being down on points, the Australian secured a vicious stoppage victory towards the end of the fight.
The highly exciting welterweight bout was followed by a bout between Kevin Holland and Michael ‘Venom’ Page. As it was expected going into the fight, ‘Venom’ brought a lot of antics inside the octagon and still managed to win on points.

The co-main event of UFC 299 featured Dustin Poirier and Benoit Saint-Denis inside the octagon. Poirier was the underdog going into the fight and many believed that Saint-Denis’ pressure style of fighting will trouble ‘Diamond’. While it looked to be the case in the first round, Poirier clapped back with a vicious knockout in the second round.
In the main event, Sean O’Malley put on a masterclass to get the better of Marlon Vera in their rematch. In the process, he also avenged his loss to Vera and retained his UFC bantamweight championship.
