The UFC’s Heavyweight division is in an exciting spot. It has both undisputed and interim champions, Jon Jones and Tom Aspinall. The Englishman is in camp to prepare for his bout against Curtis Blaydes in the UFC 304 co-main event octagon. He is set to defend his belt for the first time in the octagon.
In an interview, Aspinall was recently spotted talking about the UFC’s Light Heavyweight champion. Rumors circulated in the UFC that Aspinall was preparing to take on the Brazilian kickboxer, and Tom gave his take on the same.
Tom Aspinall on Alex Pereira
The interim Heavyweight champion, Tom Aspinall, recently talked with the guys at Submission Radio about everything going around in his camp to prepare for Curtis Blaydes in the cage. In his last fight, he was asked about eyeing down Alex Pereira on the octagon side. Tom said,
It wasn’t like a media play or anything like that.
With his stare on Alex Pereria, Tom Aspinall clarified that he was not looking to create headlines. He claimed he was just witnessing Pereria making his entrance inside of the octagon. Earlier, Tom admitted he takes no pleasure in picking guys in the lighter-weight classes, but if Pereira wants to jump up to Heavyweight, he will be more than happy to take on Alex
Alex Pereira is considered the best kickboxer in the Octagon, and his deadly left hook is the most dangerous weapon in anyone’s arsenal. Tom Aspinall is only the third Englishman to touch the UFC gold, but it will be interesting to see if he ever takes on Alex Pereira in the Octagon.
