Even though Khabib Nurmagomedov may no longer dominate his opponents inside the UFC octagon, he is still considered the best MMA fighter of all time. However, what would happen if the ‘The Eagle’ faced Islam Makhachev? Commenting on that, Tom Aspinall has a unique stance.
Recently, Aspinall was on the YouTube channel called Froch on Fighting. When asked who would win if Makhachev and Nurmagomedov fought each other, the Interim Heavyweight Champion cleared picked Makhachev as the winner.
“Islam might take it, I think he’s a bit of a better striker, I think he’s a more dangerous striker. I think grappling wise they’re very similar, I reckon Islam might take that,” Aspinall said.
Aspinall recently defeated Curtis Blaydes to retain his Interim UFC Heavyweight Title at UFC 304. His charismatic athleticism earned him huge accolades. Now, he has his eyes set on the winner of Jon Jones vs. Stipe Miocic.
Tom Aspinall Picks UFC CEO Dana White Over Fellow Countryman Eddie Hearn
There’s often a comparison between Dana White and other combat sports promoters. But recently, when Froch asked Aspinall who he would pick between the UFC head honcho and Matchroom Sport chairman Eddie Hearn, the Interim Heavyweight Champion hailed praises for his boss.
“Mate, I do like Eddie Hearn. But I don’t think you can compare [him] to what Dana White has done for the UFC,” Aspinall said.

Although he did praise Hearn for having a great presentation in the interviews, Aspinall did not overlook White’s contribution to UFC. However, the 31-year-old felt that even Hearn would have the same stance.
“I just like the way he goes on in interviews and that think he’s quite funny. I mean, I don’t know him personally. I never actually met him. I think Eddie would say the same. I’ve seen him say that before in interviews,” Aspinall added.
Tom Aspinall’s stance on Dana White certainly makes sense. After all, the latter has taken UFC to new heights with his leadership over the years. However, will these heaps of praise help the Englishman get a main event booking in the future? Well, that remains to be seen.
