The UFC has got some of the biggest names in the world of fighting. There are fighters in the UFC that are rightly considered superstars. But there is no one close to a certain Irishman when it comes to stardom in the fight community. Conor McGregor has headlined all of UFC’s highest selling pay-per-views. The utter flamboyance of Conor’s personality remains unmatched.
The 35 year-old last fought three years ago when he suffered from a rather gruesome injury against Dustin Poirier. Since then the MMA community has been waiting for the return of the Irishman. As it turns out Chael Sonnen gave us an interesting insight on what’s going on with Conor’s contract negotiations with the UFC.
UFC Legend makes a massive revelation about Conor McGregor’s contract
Chael Sonnen is a former UFC title challenger who was known for his impressive grappling ability. Sonnen is well aware of what goes on behind the scenes when a contract is negotiated between the fighter and the UFC. Recently on his Youtube channel he made some shocking revelations on Conor’s contract situation with Dana White. Chael said,
There has never been a spot that Conor Mcgregor has ever done where he reveals to you the audience that he is having a hard time even getting communication with the UFC. Before we get into a fight, before we get into a title fight, before we get into a draw, before we get into media days, got to get a phone call.
He added,
Connor just can’t get this call back. He can’t get that negotiation going. When you reach that point with the UFC, it’s not anger, it’s not a negotiation tactic. It means the UFC has come as far they are going to come in whatever negotiation or talks that you’re gonna have.
Chael Sonnen made it clear that the UFC and Conor McGregor might not be seeing eye to eye during the contract negotiations therefore the delay. According to the former light heavyweight title challenger the UFC might have already put their best deal forward. It’ll be interesting to see when and against who does the Mac makes his return to his beloved octagon.
