Champ Sean O’Malley recently beat Marlon Vera throughout five rounds to complete his first title defense. Since then, O’Malley has called out many fighters in the company. Given his phenomenal win streak, he admitted he would have to fight Merab Dvalishvili next. Merab recently sent a massive threat to the champion on his social media handle.
Merab has called out O’Malley a few times in the octagon for a question. O’Malley finally obliged, and it seems like the fight will occur later this year.
Merab Dvalishvili calls out Sean O’Malley
Merab Dvalishvili is on an impressive eleven-fight win streak. He won his last fight against former two-division champion Henry Cejudo. Merab Dvalishvili is doing everything he can to drag Sean O’Malley into the octagon. Merab Dvalishvili was poking fun at his opponent by organizing a ton of skits and uploading them on his social media handle. Merab will look to achieve his career objective of winning the UFC Gold after securing a win over Sean O’Malley. Merab said,
I will smash O’Malley inside the cage and then smash his coach outside of the cage
Merab made it clear that he would beat up Sean O’Malley and also beat up and smash his coach outside of the cage. Tim Welch and Sean O’Malley have been together since the absolute start in MMA. Tim Welch can be seen outside the cage when Sean is exchanging fists in the cage. Welch and Sean have gained a ton of success in the UFC.
Merab’s teammate Aljamain Sterling also accused Welch of indulging in trash talk with the fighters when he had no business. Tim Welch also shouted instructions to Sterling during his fight with Sean, which many people believed led to his knockout in the second round. Welch also made fun of Merab’s nose by calling it massive in the podcast hosted by him and Sean. It’ll be interesting to see if Merab beats Sean in the cage or if O’Malley will remain champion by the end of the year.
