Max recently defended his statistic of not getting knocked down in fights.
Holloway will most probably fight for the title in his next fight in the featherweight or the lightweight division of the company.
Max Holloway defends his statistic
Despite having a boxing and striking-heavy style, Max Holloway has never been knocked down in a fight before UFC 300. In the UFC 300 BMF bout against Justin Gaethje, many fans thought Gaethje successfully knocked down Max in the fourth round of their bout. In the post-fight press conference, when a journalist asked Holloway the same question and mentioned that it was not a knocked down, Max took a sigh of relief and said,
Hey it was a slip. What are you talking about?
Max clarified that it was not a knockdown but a slip that caused him to bend his elbow inside the octagon. It seemed like Gaethje’s straight right was the reason for Max’s slip, but Holloway said that was not true. Holloway was ecstatic that he still hasn’t been knocked down in his career inside of the octagon.
Max exchanged many strikes with the natural lightweight in Gaethje and still emerged victorious. It’s a rather impressive statistic given Max’s striking, heavy style. Max Holloway is a striking extraordinaire, as he holds the record for most strikes inflicted on his opponents on his opponents. Max Holloway is the third BMF champion in UFC’s history and probably will go down as the best one in the company.

Holloway made it clear that he wants to fight for the title next. He will probably take on Ilia Topuria, the new featherweight champion, in the UFC for the featherweight belt. Holloway and Ilia might fight before the year ends, and it will be interesting to see who ends their year as the champion of the featherweight division.
