Sean Strickland is looking quite pumped up ahead of his UFC 312 title fight. Getting his much-awaited title rematch against Dricus Du Plessis, ‘Tarzan’ is quite confident. So much so, that he is looking past his current opponent. With the Du Plessis vs Strickland bout coming up, calls have already mounted for Khamzat Chimaev to be a well-deserved title contender. So far, Chimaev has been undefeated in the UFC.
And his last match, Robbert Whittaker, sealed Chimaev’s fate as the next in line for the middleweight title. Stepping into one of his toughest fights, Chimaev stunned the crowd when he submitted Whittaker early into his match. Not only that, Chimaev’s vicious choke also led to Whittaker breaking his jaw. But all that is not intimidating Sean Strickland a bit.
“Rob was a f***ing can… after I’m done with Chimaev he’s gonna go back to peddling crypto scams,” said Strickland in an interaction with ‘MMA Junkie.’

Well, ‘Tarzan’ might be feeling at ease, but he first needs to outdo Dricus du Plessis in February. Recently, Strickland asked ‘Stillknocks’ to stand up and box with him at UFC 312. However, the champion did not fall for the trap and also issued a stern warning to the challenger.
Sean Strickland Gets Denied By Dricus Du Plessis
Sean Strickland has been frowning ever since he lost his belt to Du Plessis. As the South African got his hands raised, Strickland claimed that the judges’ decision was quite questionable. Now, as he has gotten his opportunity to make things right, Strickland asked Du Plessis to agree to a stand up face off.
Unfortunately, this pact was denied by Dricus du Plessis right away. Speaking to ‘FOXSportsAUS’, Du Plessis pointed out, “If you want to make pacts about us just standing up, go do boxing… Sean Strickland knows a lot of one-liners to sound tough, but I expose fake tough guys… I’m not here to make pacts. I’m here to win.”
