Ryan Garcia has been trending on social media since his victory against a powerful Devin Haney last weekend.
Ryan Garcia makes a massive revelation
Boxing star Ryan Garcia stunned everyone when he missed weight by more than three pounds. Garcia was also behaving differently in the final face-offs. Most boxing fans were counting out Ryan, given what transpired before the fight, which led everyone to believe that Ryan was not taking the fight against Devin seriously. In an interview given after his twelve-round bout, Garcia said,
I don’t think Tank’s gonna beat Frank Martin, but if he did, he wouldn’t fight me because I’m moving up. I’m not doing 140, I’m going 147. I can’t make fuckin’ 140. I’ve never even technically fought at 140. My body can’t literally go lower than 143, it’s impossible. I’ve tried every technique.
Ryan Garcia made it clear that he will no longer try to fight in the 140-pound division, as he just can’t make weight and go that low. He revealed that he’s going up a weight division because he’s having some major issues during the weigh-ins. His body just cannot go lower than 143 pounds, and he’s not a huge fan of cutting weight before the fight. Garcia clarified he would rather fight in his natural weight class than dehydrate himself and cut weight, which would affect his performance.
He also claimed that he was not going to avenge his loss against Gervonta Davis. He lost the only time in his career when Gervonta knocked him out in the 140-pound division. He also claimed that he does not think the Tank was going to take on and beat Frank Martin inside of the boxing ring. Ryan Garcia is definitely one of the best fighters in the world after emerging victorious against Devin Haney and it’ll be interesting to see what does Ryan decides to do in the near future.
