Sports have always celebrated iconic sibling duos—Joe and Jack Dempsey in boxing, Eli and Peyton Manning in football, and so on. In the UFC, Nick and Nate Diaz have been the epitome of brotherly dominance over the last decade. Now, the Topuria brothers are about to be the next big thing in the UFC. Ilia Topuria has already taken over the featherweight division and snagged the title, but now it’s Aleksandre’s turn to make waves and show the world what he’s got.
Signed earlier this year, Aleksandre Topuria is gearing up for his much-hyped UFC debut on the stacked UFC 312 card headlined by Dricus Du Plessis and Sean Strickland. As per reports from UFC analyst Alvaro Colmenero, he will fight Cody Haddon in the bantamweight division. This could be the start of another legendary family legacy in MMA, following in the footsteps of the Nurmagomedov family, who’ve already earned the title of the sport’s greatest family.

The fight card already includes Du Plessis vs. Strickland and Zhang Weili vs. Tatiana Suarez. Now, adding an Australian fighter with an 8-1-0 record will make the event even more exciting.
When it comes to his MMA career, ‘El Cazador’ holds a 5-1 record, with three victories by KO/TKO and two via submission. He made his debut in 2015 but stepped away after a third-round TKO loss to Ivo Ivanov. But he returned to the cage in 2021 and won three consecutive bouts, finishing each in under two minutes.
This suggests he has solid potential to become the next big thing, much like his younger brother. However, with Ilia having set the bar so high, the pressure could be intense as Alexandre looks to carve out his own legacy in the sport.
Tom Aspinall Believes Ilia Topuria Has A Brighter UFC Future In 2025
In his recent video, UFC Heavyweight Interim Champ pointed to Topuria as the standout fighter of 2024, just like Dustin Poirier. He acknowledged ‘El Matador’ as a long-time contender in the featherweight title conversation, but he highlighted his exceptional rise. Aspinall praised his victories over Alexander Volkanovski and Max Holloway and noted Holloway’s unmatched record of never being dropped in the UFC.

With two legendary wins in one year, the British fighter believes that Topuria’s 2025 could be even more impressive than his accomplishments in 2024. “So that’s two legends he’s beaten in a year. What this guy is going to do in 2025 is likely even going to be even bigger than what he did in 2024,” Aspinall said.
Indeed, it will be interesting to see if Aspinall’s prediction comes true or if Topuria might face a dip in his career. He has mentioned plans to move up in weight, which could present a tough challenge as he faces stiffer competition.
