Jason Jackson stunned the world when he knocked out the undefeated Yaroslav Amosov to become the Bellator welterweight champion. Jackson, who was unsuccessful at the Dana White’s Contender Series and The Ultimate Fighter, is now one of the biggest names in Bellator.
Jackson trains at Kill Cliff FC, home to several top dogs in the UFC – Michael Chandler, Gilbert Burns, Shavkat Rakhmonov, and others. In a recent interview, Jackson revealed his plans to compete in the UFC after a successful run with Bellator.
Jason Jackson Vows to Settle Unfinished Business in the UFC
Preluding his title fight against the undefeated Ramazan Kuramagomedov at Bellator Champions Series 3, Jason Jackson interviewed MMA Fighter Damon Martin. In the interview, Jackson spoke about the unfinished business in the UFC he wished to settle.
“I control my destiny…I’m sure that I will fight in the UFC one day, once the time is right. I know that for a fact. That’s something I’m telling you. Once I finish getting enough of a bag and enough is enough, they are going to see my face for sure,” said Jackson.
Jackson’s unfinished business is his failure at Dana White’s Contender Series and the Ultimate Fighter reality series, two feeder shows for the UFC. Michael Venom Page and Michael Chandler have eased well into the UFC after leaving Bellator.
Jackson will also have a seemless transiiton if he choses to do so. Page now has a high-profile fight scheduled for UFC 303 against Ian Garry. On the other hand, Michael Chandler was the original main event with Conor McGregor at UFC 303 before McGregor’s withdrawal.
