PFL 5 2024 recently concluded, and former Bellator and PFL champions had a great day. Clay Collard, Patricky Pitbull, Impa Kasanganay, Antonio Carlos Junior, Brent Primus, Sadibou Sy, and others were in action at the Jon M. Huntsman Center in Salt Lake City.
It was an excellent night for Kasanganay, Primus, and Sy, while Collard, Pitbull, and Carlos Junior had a tough outing. The card featured only lightweight and light heavyweight bouts, and the results significantly impacted the play-off seedings of the respective tournaments.
Kasanganay and Primus Advance to Semifinals
With an impressive second-round finish of Jakob Nedoh, Impa Kasanganay secured the top spot in the light heavyweight standings of the PFL tournament. He will now face Josh Silveira in the semi-finals. Silveira lost a close split decision to Rob Wilkinson at PFL 5.
In the second semifinal, Wilkinson will face Dovletdzhan Yagshimuradov, who defeated Simon Biyong. Despite the impressive finish, Sadibou Sy, the 2017 PFL welterweight tournament winner, missed a play-off spot. Antonio Carlos Jr. also missed out due to the loss to Alex Polizzi.
Brent Primus’ first-round submission victory over Solomon Renfro put him on the lightweight rankings. Primus will now face Clay Collard, who lost in the main event to Mads Burnell, in the semi-finals. The other semi-final is between Gadzhi Rabadanov and Michael Dufort.
Rabadanov defeated Elvin Espinoza, while Dufort lost to Adam Piccolotti. Patricky Pitbull lost via split decision to Bruno Miranda and ended the campaign winless. Despite winning at PFL 5, Piccoloitti and Burnell missed the playoffs.
