The official UFC on ESPN+ 1 fighter weigh-ins took place on Friday and one of the most anticipated matchups at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn involves Rachael Ostovich taking on Paige VanZant.
First up was Paige, who came in at 125.8. She returns to competition for the first time in a tough 2018 that saw multiple things go down in her life. She broke the ulna in her right arm during a fight with Jessica-Rose “Jessy Jess” Clark. She also got married in 2018 to fellow mixed martial artist Austin Vanderford.
On top of that, she was forced to have 2 surgeries, including a bone graft from her hip, to finally fix her arm. Also, her endorsement deal with Reebok expired and the company chose not to renew it.
Next up was Rachael Ostovich whose troubles in 2018 were highly documented when her husband, Arnold Berdon, an MMF fighter, beat her and was arrested and charged with attempted murder, according to Honolulu Police.
Ostovich was treated for a broken orbital bone.

Her match with Paige was nearly cancelled, but her injuries healed and she pleaded to remain on the card.
