The middleweight division is currently experiencing a roller coaster, with many fighters vying for a title shot. Caio Borralho, a rising contender in the division, has gained significant attention following his recent win against Jared Cannonier. Despite the victory coming with a unanimous decision, Borralho caught the eye of major UFC stars. UFC content creator Nina Marie Daniele, who has millions of followers, believes that ‘The Natural’ is the future of UFC.
Nina Marie Daniele, who boasts 2.3 million followers on Instagram and over 200k followers on X, congratulated Caio Borralho on his win. She highlighted that the Brazilian is the next big threat in the middleweight division, writing,
“They should’ve stopped the fight right here! Caio Borralho is the future of the UFC Middleweight Division! Jared Connonier is an absolute BEAST! @BorralhoCaio has all the tools to become a Champion. Congratulations Fighting Nerds! #UFCVegas96”
Nina praised both fighters for their performances, though many felt the fight should have been stopped in the fifth round when ‘The Natural’ landed heavy punches on Cannonier and grounded him. However, ‘The Killa Gorilla’ quickly recovered, and the referee didn’t stop the fight. Despite this, the Brazilian generated immense buzz after securing the win.
Caio Borralho Calls Out Middleweight Champion Dricus Du Plessis
In the post-fight octagon interview, fighters typically reveal their next move in the UFC. When former UFC champion Michael Bisping asked Borralho who he wanted to face next, he wasted no time in calling out current middleweight champion Du Plessis following his dominant win.
He said, “You know who I want next. I’ve already called you out two times already. You already beat Sean [Strickland], you already beat Adesanya, you already beat all these guys. So, Dricus du Plessis, get your a** over here or South Africa… I’m coming for you, boy!”

However, the current ranking of ‘The Natural’ at 12th in the middleweight division makes it difficult for the Brazilian to secure a title shot next. Borralho must rack up 1 or 2 more high-profile wins to earn a chance against the champion. Only time will tell when he’ll get his title shot and what the UFC matchmakers have in mind for him.
