History Of Alex Pereira Losing Weight
Pereira went from being the UFC’s 185-pound champion to the 205-pound title in two fights. Following his defeat by Israel Adesanya at UFC 287 in the middleweight division on April 8, 2023, Pereira made a comeback to the Octagon on July 29, 2023, when he defeated Jan Blachowicz, the former champion, in his debut at light heavyweight. On November 11, 2023, at UFC 295, he defeated Jiri Prochazka to win the title.
When Pereira failed to arrive at the weighing room by the deadline for his first-round fight against Adesanya at UFC 281, there were worries that he was cutting it close. But he tipped the scales at eighteen-four pounds, brushing off the rumors.

Pereira weighed 204 pounds during his most recent fight against Prochazka. Jiri, who weighed 204.2 pounds, was heavier than him. But we’re all aware of what transpired in that fight. In a recent MMAHour interview, Poatan disclosed how quickly he puts on weight after tipping the scales.
“103 kilograms, so I would say maybe 225, 224 [pounds], something like that… During the fights at 185 [pounds], I probably went in the cage at about 210 [pounds].”
One of the most extraordinary oddities in UFC history is Alex Pereira. Incredibly, he never missed weight in that class, yet he was such a big man for the middleweight level.
