Up-and-coming MMA star Shalie Lipp has tragically lost her life at the age of 21, which came less than two weeks away from her next big fight.
The 21-year-old from Colorado died in a two-car accident in Minnesota, with Lipp being the passenger of a 2015 Chevrolet Malibu.
The Minnesota State Patrol says 21-year-old Shalie Lipp was not wearing a seatbelt when the vehicle she was in crashed on the Red River Bridge on I-94 in Moorhead on Sunday.
The 2015 Chevy Malibu “made contact” with a 2017 Jeep Cherokee carrying three passengers on Red River Bridge in Moorhead around 11:30 a.m., according to a crash report obtained by Valley News Live.
The vehicle she was riding in was driven by 35-year-old Joseph Trottier of West Fargo. The other four people in the accident all had their seat belts on. Nobody else was injured.

The crash remains under investigation.
Lipp was scheduled for a martial arts event in Detroit Lakes on May 20. She was scheduled to fight Natalie Gage at No Mercy 11.
Lipp shared her excitement for the event in a post on Instagram.
“I would love it if you guys came out and supported me so close to my hometown!” she wrote. “Bring some friends, have a couple of drinks, and enjoy some violence!”
Lipp last fought in Thailand on April 26, 2023, according to her Instagram.
