It’s been over a year since Francis Ngannou signed a contract with PFL. However, no official update came on when ‘The Predator’ will make his debut in the MMA promotion. Now, the 37-year-old himself confirmed his next opponent. And it’s none other than Renan Fereira.
Recently, Ngannou was on the JRE MMA Show. He confirmed his MMA return and PFL debut at the end of 2024. Moreover, ‘The Predator’ added that he might face the heavyweight division star Renan Ferreira. He said,
“I will be fighting by the end of the year…I think Renan Ferreira is the guy.”
Moreover, when Rogan asked Ngannou about his fight schedule, ‘The Predator’ confirmed it would be in October 2024. It is noteworthy that the PFL will be traveling to Saudi Arabia for another event on October 19 this year.
Earlier on February 22, 2024, the PFL announced that the Ferreira vs. Bader fight winner will face Ngannou. The two PFL heavyweights fought at the PFL vs. Bellator on 24 February 2024. In the end, it was Ferreira who won the bout via TKO punches.
What Happened In Francis Ngannou’s Last MMA Fight?
Ngannou made his last appearance in the MMA cage on January 22, 2022, when he fought Ciryl Gane at UFC 270. He won the bout via unanimous decision. After that, he was released by UFC and became an unrestricted free agent. Interestingly, after B.J. Penn in 2004, he also became the first-ever reigning champion to leave the UFC.
