Jamahal Hill got put to sleep in the first round of the main event, even in UFC 300. Things certainly didn’t go his way when Alex Pereira knocked him out in the first round of the main event. Hill was returning from an ACL injury, often considered one of the worst a fighter can go through. Hill took only eight months to recover and return to the octagon; many thought the former champion might be rushing things. He again surprised folks when he announced his next fight after the UFC 300 loss.
Jamahal Hill is currently number six in the UFC Light Heavyweight rankings.

The fighters usually want to take some time off after knockout losses. But as it turns out, the former champ, Jamahal Hill, is already gearing up to return to the octagon. Hill is one of the few fighters who knows the striking and the ground game all too well. The UFC recently announced that Hill will be taking on Khalil Rountree Jr. in the month of June at UFC 303. The UFC fans wrote down the following comments underneath the post,
Too soon for Hill to come back. He’s just been knocked out, we’ve seen so many times what happens when fighters come back too quickly.

The fans made it clear that they think that Jamahal Hill is making a return too soon and should probably rest for a little more. Rountree is a knockout artist in the company who is one of the division’s most technical and dangerous fighters. The fans were convinced that this fight would not end well for him, given he was making a comeback in less than three months. It will be interesting to see if Jamahal Hill will heed what folks say about his bout.
Khalil Rountree is one of the plausible title contenders in the company, and folks should not downplay his threat. He owns an immense amount of power. He can shut anyone’s lights off inside the cage and would love to win over the company’s former light Heavyweight champion.
