It seems to be becoming a trend in the UFC for fighters to use lookalikes of their opponents to mock them before fights. From Merab Dvalishvili using a Sean O’Malley doppelganger to Ilia Topuria recently sharing a video of himself sparring with a Max Holloway lookalike ahead of UFC 308, it’s clear this trend is growing. In the video, Topuria dominates the clone, but fans had mixed reactions, with many expressing skepticism.
At UFC 308, Topuria is set to face BMF title holder Holloway. However, it seems the Spaniard has already started his mind games weeks before the fight, having demolished a Holloway look-alike in a recent video. However, the fans did not find it impressive and reacted with skepticism.
Fans are not convinced that Topuria will defeat Holloway as easily as he did his look-alike.
One fan thinks Holloway will control the fight by keeping his distance at first, then going all out later on in the fight, where there will be one-side traffic.

Talking about Topuria’s power, one fan asserts ‘El Matador’ won’t land anything significant and that the BMF title holder will outmaneuver him easily.
Ilia Topuria Suggest Max Holloway To Use Helmet At UFC 308
There’s no doubt that Max Holloway’s knockout of Dustin Poirier in the final seconds of UFC 300 left everyone in awe. Now, talking to MMA Junkie, Ilia Topuria suggests he’s planning to replicate that moment by knocking out his opponent cold, and Holloway might need a helmet for it.
He stated, “If he’s gonna bring the same energy he brings in the last 10 seconds of every round like when he (points at the ground), I’m gonna knock him out in the first round…I recommend him to use a helmet. Maybe I’m gonna point to the ground.”
Indeed, Topuria is brimming with confidence, just like last time. However, it will be interesting to see if he can deliver a performance as impressive as his fight against Alexander Volkanovski or if Holloway will pull off a UFC 300-style finish.
