We have a new lead candidate for knockout of the year, courtesy of Michael Chandler at UFC 274.
During Chandler’s bout against Tony Ferguson, the 36-year-old fighter connected with an insane front kick to the face early in the second round. The impact left Ferguson out cold in the middle of the octagon for several scary minutes, while sending the fans in the stands at Phoenix’s Footprint Center into a frenzy.
The victory ended Chandler’s two-fight losing streak, while setting him up for another possible opportunity to claim the UFC light heavyweight belt.
The fans in attendance weren’t the only ones going insane. Here’s a look at how Twitter reacted to Chandler’s front kick KO:

Afterwards, Chandler continued to give the fans what they want by delivering an epic post-fight interview, during which he called out none other than Conor McGregor.
Let’s hope Conor and Dana White give us all what we want to see; a Chandler vs. McGregor slugfest for the ages.
