There was a time when any news about a Conor McGregor fight would set the entire UFC community abuzz until the final bell rang. However, the incessant chatter about his return seems to have diluted the excitement, leaving fans feeling underwhelmed. What was once shiny now feels like all glitter and no gold. Meanwhile, Michael Bisping has voiced his frustration, expressing that the constant talk about McGregor every five minutes is wearing thin.
McGregor still has two fights remaining on his UFC contract and aims to complete both by 2025. After that, he’s setting his sights on BKFC. Upon hearing this news, Michael Bisping expressed frustration, stating he was tired of discussing McGregor repeatedly. On a recent YouTube podcast, Bisping said,
“Thankou, because I did ask you to bring it up but I should have said don’t bring that up. Because it’s like we can’t keep having the same discussion every five minutes”
Light heavyweight fighter Anthony Smith also expressed frustration on the same podcast, stating he’s tired of talking about McGregor. Smith added that the Irish fighter should either fight or not fight at all. Although McGregor’s comeback is still unconfirmed, Team Khabib’s manager, Ali Abdelaziz, suggested a potential lightweight opponent for McGregor’s epic UFC return.

McGregor’s opponent, Michael Chandler, has secured a fight with Charles Oliveira, but Conor McGregor always has potential opponents lined up. Khabib Nurmagomedov’s manager, Ali Abdelaziz, recently suggested an opponent for McGregor’s comeback, recommending Justin Gaethje. In his interview with TMZ, Abdelaziz said:
“Listen I think this guy is. I personally don’t think he ever gonna fight again. But it’s a fight out there. He’s always been looming. If he decides to fight again, and I think he can fight Gaethje. Gaethje doesn’t have a fight. They don’t have a fight.”

Justin Gaethje competed at the historic UFC 300 event, where he lost his BMF title to Max Holloway. Meanwhile, Conor McGregor hasn’t fought since 2021 after suffering a leg injury in his bout with Dustin Poirier. While Gaethje could be an unexpected opponent for McGregor, only time will tell when the Irish fighter will make his return to the Octagon.
