The dynamic between UFC fighters and commentators has always sparked interesting debates and occasional fireworks. At UFC Vegas 100, this relationship took center stage when middleweight Tresean Gore decided to serve up a slice of humble pie to Michael Bisping. The Ultimate Fighter 29 finalist had just scored an impressive submission victory over Antonio Trócoli, making the moment even sweeter.
The drama unfolded when Bisping questioned Gore’s grappling technique during the fight broadcast. In a twist, the fighter proceeded to finish the fight with the exact technique Bisping had criticized. He let everyone know about his feelings about Bisping at the post-fight press conference.
“Man, Bisping literally always does that. I don’t know why, everything I do is untechnical and wrong…Last time I got that choke on that guy, [Josh Fremd], he was like ‘Oh man, it’s good! But it’s super untechnical!’…But I respect him, he’s a former champion, and I look forward to becoming a champion myself one day.”
Tresean Gore pointed out a pattern in Bisping’s criticism of his techniques. He referenced a previous fight against Josh Fremd where Bisping had made similar remarks about Gore’s submission skills, only to watch Gore secure victory with the same “untechnical” move. The irony wasn’t lost on anyone in the room.
The situation highlighted a broader tension in the MMA world between active fighters and former champions who transition to commentary roles. Tresean Gore’s critique wasn’t just about one instance – it touched on a recurring theme of fighters feeling misunderstood or unfairly criticized by those calling the action. Yet, he maintained a level of respect for Bisping’s achievements.
Michael Bisping Reveals Woking While Being Still In Pain
The warrior spirit that defined Michael Bisping’s fighting career continues to shine through in his broadcasting role. Responding to a surprised fan on social media, Bisping painted a stark picture of his current condition. The 45-year-old veteran admitted to being in pain after multiple surgical interventions that have yet to provide the hoped-for relief. In classic Bisping fashion, he managed to inject some humor into the situation.
“I’m still in agony. 3 surgeries. Zero relief. Who knows maybe it changes but currently looking like it didn’t fix the issue. Again. Anyway. Good to stay busy as opposed to sitting round feeling sorry for one self. I feel sorry for everyone around me listening to me complain though,” said Bisping via X.
The road to recovery has been particularly brutal this time around. The recent surgery involved doctors using spiked screws to immobilize his head during the procedure. This led to severe headaches and discomfort in the following days. Yet, true to his nature, he is pushing forward with his commitments.
