It seems that everyone in the UFC is eager to take shots at Daniel Cormier and his weight gain since retiring from MMA. After Team Khabib Nurmagomedov, Max Holloway has also chimed in, mocking Cormier’s appearance by saying he looks like a soccer ball. He didn’t stop there; he also poked fun at Cormier’s retirement fight against Stipe Miocic.
Ahead of UFC 308, Holloway sat down with DC for a chat, during which they discussed various topics. Since ‘Blessed’ brought his Barcelona FC jersey, the conversation shifted to soccer. Following that, UFC legend Daniel Cormier challenged Holloway to a soccer match after his fight. Holloway couldn’t resist mocking him, calling attention to his weight and saying that he can’t even run, joking that he looks like a soccer ball.
In his words, “Can you run? Bro, you look like a soccer ball. You look tired, bro, you look like [you’re] 300 lbs.”
This isn’t the first time DC has been teased about his weight; fans have watched as Islam Makhachev and Khabib have poked fun at him, too. Still, it’s all in good spirits and showcases the strong bonds DC shares with different fighters.
Max Holloway Roasts Ilia Topuria Calling Him Conor McGregor’s Copycat
Holloway hasn’t just gone after DC; he’s also taken a shot at Topuria. For context, “El Matador” has long been mocked for imitating McGregor’s style and persona. From his press conference antics to posing in front of planes and tattoos, there are many aspects of his character that draw criticism. In a recent media appearance, Holloway didn’t hold back when discussing Topuria’s pre-fight behavior, calling him a copycat of McGregor and targeting what he views as Topuria’s borrowed personality.
He stated, “You know the guy that he’s copycatting. This guy is a copycat, down to his tattoos, his aura, the way he’s approaching fights. The guy is a copycat, and your best friend’s [Conor McGregor] with the guy he’s following.”

It will be interesting to see if Topuria can silence his critics with another strong win or if Holloway will reclaim the featherweight belt he lost long ago.
