Max Holloway shocked the world with his knockout victory over Justin Gaethje. Two weeks ago, the two locked horns at the highly anticipated UFC 300 with the BMF belt on the line.
Going into the fight, many believed that Holloway stood no chance against Gaethje because ‘Blessed’ had only competed in the lightweight division twice.
However, Max Holloway arguably put on the best performance of his life. Holloway dominated most of the fight before securing a vicious knockout during a wild exchange towards the end of the battle.
Interestingly, Holloway has revealed what he did differently in preparation for his fight against Gaethje. Holloway has been vocal about not sparring in his fight camps for those unaware.
However, Max Holloway brought back sparring in his fight against Justin Gaethje. He said:
“This Justin Gaethje [camp], brother I was going to the gates of hell. We had to bring back sparring. I was ready to be a crash dummy again. I told my coach ‘this is a man that’s very dangerous, we need to get into the thick of it.’”
