George St-Pierre is often regarded as the greatest mixed martial artist ever in the history of fighting. Since retiring he’s often seen enjoying the finer things in life. He won the welterweight title and defended it a couple times. He also came back from retirement and won the middleweight championship title.
GSP has been in more than ten title fights and has only lost one. He had the reputation of being one of the best all round fighters in MMA. He recently talked about another all-time great Khabib Nurmagomedov in a recent podcast appearance.
GSP heaps praise on Khabib Nurmagomedov
George St-Pierre last fought in the year 2017 when he took on former middleweight champion Michael Bisping. He beat Englishman to become only the fourth fighter in UFC history to win multiple titles in different divisions. While talking about Khabib GSP was all praise for the Dagestani. He said,
He’s at his most dangerous when you put you against you back against the cage. He’s a master of chain wrestling.
He made it clear that Khabib is probably one of the most relentless when it comes to wrestling. Khabib was known for attempting a million takedowns before his opponent got tired and gave up his back. After that Khabib used to inflict damage on his opponent or chole him out. GSP made it clear that although he’s a decent grappler his style is a bit more dynamic as he considers himself a great striker too.
GSP and Khabib were supposed to scrap but unfortunately for the MMA fans Khabib called it a career and never really fought GSP. GSP might have more title defenses but Khabib never really bled in a sport which is known for its violence.

In a parallel world where it’ll be interesting to see who wins against who. Will it be Khabib dominating GSP or GSP using his fight IQ and outplaying Khabib in the bout. It was heartening to see GSP giving Khabib his flowers given how competitive MMA fighters can get. Given Khabib is only in his early thirties will he make a return to his beloved sport or not. It remains to be seen.
