This is going to be a hard on to top when it comes to the Knockout of the Night bonus.
During the third round of Marlon “Chito” Vera’s UFC 268 bout against Frankie Edgar, the 28-year-old Ecuadorian landed a picture-perfect front kick on the chin of his opponent, ending the fight in a rather spectacular fashion. The win was Vera’s second in a row, and it should help him move up the UFC bantamweight rankings. He entered this fight as the #13 ranked fighter in the division.
The win was a big one for Vera, as it improves his record to 18-7-1. He’s rebounded rather nicely since his unanimous decision loss to Jose Aldo in December at “UFC Fight Night: Thompson vs. Neal.”
As for Edgar, the 40-year-old veteran has now lost three of his last four fights. Tonight may have marked the end of a historic career for the former UFC lightweight champion.
