The battle lines are drawn. After months of deliberations, the fight between Alex Pereira and Magomed Ankalaev has finally been confirmed. With UFC 311 in full flow, the main event announcement of UFC 313 had the fans reeling. After all, Ankalaev vs Pereira has been a long fight in the making. Ever since Poatan got the better of Jiri Prochazka at UFC 303, it was expected that a match-up with Magomed Ankalaev would be next.
Surprisingly, the duo were pitted against different fighters until recently, when the match was confirmed. With the confirmations, the verbal battle has also begun. Moments after the contract was finalized, the Russian athlete sent a chilling warning to Alex Pereira. Ankalaev vowed to ‘punish’ the UFC light heavyweight champion in UFC 313.
“You just sign your death certificate I’m gonna punish you for ducking me and I’m gonna make you look like a guy work in a tire shop not professional Fighter,” Ankalaev wrote.

Now, Pereira had earlier expressed his reluctance to give Ankalaev a title shot. This attitude had the fans accusing him of ducking the Makhachakla native. However, despite a big fight on the horizon, Poatan does not seem bothered. In fact, he already is looking beyond the Magomed Ankalaev fight.
Alex Pereira Agrees On Jiri Prochazka Trilogy Fight
Alex Pereira has been one of the most dominant champions in the UFC light heavyweight division. However, despite having the threat of Magomed Ankalaev lurking, Poatan remains unhinged. Infact, he even agreed on a fight with Jiri Prochazka after he was done with Ankalaev.
“Right now I’m fighting Ankalaev. [If] everything goes good, we gonna give Jiri the opportunity,” Pereira said in an interaction with Megan Olivi.
