The first ever UFC event was held in the year 1993 in the month of November. It was held at a time when MMA was not considered a real sport by the vast majority of folks. UFC Dana White has seen the best and the worst days of the company since its inception. White in an interview given to famous scientist and podcast host Lex Fridman opened on how famous podcaster Joe Rogan helped him in the initial few days of the company.
Joe Rogan at the current moment is running the biggest podcast in the world. He’s one of the most well known internet personalities in the world.
Dana White opens up on Joe Rogan’s contribution in building the UFC
UFC President Dana White has built the most successful MMA organization in the world in the last three decades. The UFC has grown to be a multi billion dollar company in the last decade. A lot goes on to building a successful organization. The UFC president opened up on how Joe Rogan helped the company when it was just starting out. He said,
He did the first thirteen shows for free for us.
White revealed that Joe Rogan was content with getting the best seats in the arena to witness the fights and not about the money he was receiving. Later in the interview he also revealed that Joe when he got the stint to host fear factor he used to promote the UFC for free.
Dana also opened on the time when Rogan and him were actually taking turns to appear on the radio to talk about the UFC. Rogan still commentates on all the major UFC events alongside the former two-division champion Daniel Cormier and Jon Anik. Dana als gave Joe his flowers when he claimed that Rogan was one of the very few who knew about grappling and explained it to the audience.
