The UFC is known for making some stellar matchups. Recently they announced that the company will be giving a visit to the Middle Eastern nation of Saudi Arabia with some spectacular matchups on their hands. UFC Saudi Arabia is headlined by Robert Whittaker taking on the formidable Khamzat Chimaev. Recently Whittaker was spotted giving his take on the matter and how he plans to beat Khamzat at his own game.
Robert Whittaker is one of the fan favorite fighters in the company and recently appeared in an interview where he was spotted detailing his game plan.
Robert Whittaker on Khamzat Chimaev before UFC Saudi Arabia
Robert Whittaker last took on Paulo Costa and beat him via unanimous decision. The fans were pleased to see Whittaker at his absolute best against the formidable Brazilian opponent. In a video uploaded by MMA Talk Whittaker was seen talking about his bout against the undefeated fighter. Robert said,
I think one of his greatest strengths is that I think he can force the wrestling on people. And I think it’s going to be a little harder to force the wrestling on me just because of my distance, just because of my control of space.
Robert is convinced Khamzat won’t be able to do his thing and wrestle him down as he is confident that he will be able to control the distance and his own movement in the octagon. Khamzat has a reputation of taking people down and beating them or submitting them. Robert is somewhat of a wrestler himself having wrestled down opponents before and successfully making them taste the mat. Robert will want to take on Chimaev on the feet.
It’ll be interesting to how does a fight between the formidable chain-wrestler and a well rounded former champion takes place in the UFC Saudi Arabia. The Middle Eastern fans are in for a treat as two of the best middleweights on the planet are set to give them a spectacular show. Whereas it will be interesting to see if the winner of this fight will get a title shot against the South African Dricus Du Plessis. Patience is running thin in the MMA community as fans just can’t wait for the month of June to arrive.
