Anthony Smith on Alex Pereira
Anthony Smith was at the company’s top when he took on Jon Jones and gave the champion a run for his money. The Light Heavyweight division has a new king in Alex Pereira. In a recent interview, Anthony Smith gave his take on Pereira’s ability to fight in the MMA world. It was shocking to hear what Smith had to say about his rival’s ability to fight. Anthony Smith said,
He has a very limited skill set. He’s a very, very, very dangerous at one thing and he’s mediocre at the rest.
Anthony Smith clarified that he does not rate Alex Pereira very highly. He gave props to Pereria’s striking and his knockout power but was not impressed by his grappling ability. Alex has knocked out many opponents in the octagon via his vicious left hook and even finished Hill similarly. Smith is one of the best grapplers and take-down artists in the company. It will not be easy for Alex to deal with his opponent’s grappling ability.
It’ll be interesting to see if Alex Pereria responds to Anthony Smith’s comments about his fight. If the duo ever fights in the octagon, the arena will be sold out in a few minutes. Alex Pereira will most probably take on Magomed Ankalaev in the Octagon in the near future.
