Leon Edwards is seemingly hoping to fight Conor McGregor. Edwards is set to return to the octagon against Belal Muhammad this July at UFC 304.
This would be his first fight since beating Colby Covington last year. Ahead of the fight, Edwards has made it known that he wants to fight McGregor after potentially beating Muhammad.
During a recent appearance on The MMA Hour, Leon Edwards speaks about how he expects Conor McGregor to beat Michael Chandler in order to potentially face him in November at the Madison Square Garden.
That said, nothing is certain at the moment and it will be interesting to see if McGregor can get a title shot against Edwards following a win over Chandler in June.
Conor McGregor has low expectations for UFC 304
Former UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor has predicted disappointing pay-per-view sales for UFC 304. The MMA event will take place in Manchester in July this year. It was recently revealed that the card will be headlined by a welterweight championship matchup between Leon Edwards and Belal Muhammad.
Many people are unhappy with the headliners and believe that it would not make for a good pay-per-view sale of the event, including McGregor. During a recent live stream, McGregor suggested that both Edwards and Muhammad are boring fighters.

Further, Conor McGregor jokingly suggested that the UFC 304 event won’t even cross 200 PPV buys. He said:
“There’s too many decisions going on now with that Leon [Edwards] fella. Leon Edwards loves a decision.”
He added:
“And then he’s fighting another f***ing decision guy, your man Belal [Muhammad]. So, not great times in the welterweight title picture. 200 [PPV] buys, not even.”
