In the recent years the UFC has gone international as it is known for conducting spectacular events throughout the globe. But as it turns out a third of the UFC events are conducted at UFC’s very own facility UFC Apex. The recent fight night events were also conducted at the UFC Apex. Ariel Helwani was seen touching on the same recently.
A major thing the UFC Apex misses is the same amount of glamour that is available at the UFC pay per view events. There are no proper fight entrances by the fighters plus there is a difference in size of the octagon.
Ariel Helwani is not a fan of UFC Apex events
Celebrated MMA journalist Ariel Helwani made it clear that he’s not a fan of UFC Apex. He said,
It’s just fu*king Apex man. I don’t know what else to say. It’s killing my soul.
Helwani clearly did not mince his words when he gave a rather vivid description of the UFC Apex. The events at Apex usually started around four years back during the Covid times. Helwani complained about the lack of fans at the event. There is no excitement and thrill throughout the course of the event.
Turns out the octagon size is also different at the venues. It was reported that the UFC on purpose made the octagon small so the fights can have more grappling and striking exchanges. It’ll be interesting to see if Dana will cognizant to what Ariel is trying to convey to him. One of the panel members made it clear that the main reason the UFC conducts its events at the Apex is to save money.

Many will agree that the presence of fans in a fight give a totally different feel and makes the event thrilling and entertaining otherwise its a pretty dull affair. It might have a direct effect on the viewership of the event. The UFC might want to have a look at what Ariel Helwani are saying about their events. But the fans need not worry as the next major bout UFC 300 is set to take place T-Mobile Arena in Nevada.
