Khamzat Chimaev was in a bit of a situation at UFC 279. He missed weight by a whopping 7.5 pounds! Now, fans would obviously think that he would take full responsibility for the miss. No. He has another very good reason to blame it on, and it involves his friend, Darren Till.
These two used to be the dynamic duo of the MMA world. They trained together, joked around, and even called each other “brother.” But oh, how the tables have turned! In a hilarious twist, Chimaev is pointing fingers at his former buddy, Till.
”Before I met you, I never missed weight. Because you eat everyday chocolate brother, I couldn’t stop as well…You don’t have discipline, bro, that’s why you’re not close to me now,” said Chimaev via MMA Chick.
According to Chimaev, Till’s love for the finer things in life, like chocolate, led him astray. He claimed that Till’s lack of discipline rubbed off on him. He further called out the 31-year-old for drinking beer daily and not training.
It must be noted that Khamzat Chimaev is not actually accusing him of anything. This is just a playful banter between close friends. He is making a joke at Darren Till’s expense, and Till is hilariously trying to defend himself, although with no success.
Darren Till Responds To Bo Nickal After His Comments On Khamzat Chimaev

Now, Till could’ve ignored this jab. But the man from Liverpool isn’t one to back down from a fight. He took to X to set the record straight and clear his and ‘Borz’s’ names of these allegations.
“Why is my name getting dragged through the mud? I haven’t seen Khamzat for a long time & he is devoted to his religion. Please guys don’t speak out of turn and on rumours you don’t know are true or not. Just hype a fight in a different way. We don’t tell lies,” said Till.
Now, let’s take a moment to appreciate Till’s loyalty here. He and Chimaev aren’t training partners anymore, yet he still has his back. His response is a masterclass in setting the record straight. No apologies, no backing down, just straight facts.
