However, as UFC 311 draws near, Team Khabib and the former UFC champion himself have shifted into training mode. ‘The Eagle’ has shared behind-the-scenes training photos of Islam Makhachev and Umar Nurmagomedov as they prepare for the event.
The former lightweight champion retired at the height of his career. Following his retirement, Khabib fully dedicated himself to coaching his cousins and teammates. Currently, the Russian fighter is training Umar Nurmagomedov and Islam Makhachev for their title fights.
“The Young Eagle,” is set to challenge Merab Dvalishvili for the bantamweight title, while Makhachev will defend his belt against Arman Tsarukyan. Recently, Khabib shared training photos of both fighters on his Instagram, captioning the post, “We here for work. #311.”
In a series of Instagram posts, fans got a glimpse of a fully padded Islam Makhachev and Umar Nurmagomedov in the midst of intense training. Additionally, Khabib will be cornering both Umar and Makhachev at UFC 311.
Team Khabib Nurmagomedov Confident Ahead Of January Showdowns
Team Khabib Nurmagomedov has been a dominant force in MMA for over a decade, carrying forward the vision of Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov’s ‘Father’s Plan.’ Coach Javier Mendez, who has worked closely with the team at American Kickboxing Academy for 12 years, recently expressed his pride in being part of this dynasty.
Makhachev will defend his lightweight title on January 18, while Umar fights for the bantamweight title in the co-main event. A week later, Usman Nurmagomedov will defend his Bellator belt in Dubai. Mendez praised the team’s loyalty and commitment, stating, “Loyalty is Royalty Fathers Plan legacy will prevail.”
