Khabib Nurmagomedov recently reshared a video on his Instagram story, showing himself watching the UFC 302 fight between Islam Makhachev and Dustin Poirier. While Poirier fought strongly until the knockout, Khabib’s approach to Makhachev’s next fight seems to be different. He’s determined to leave no openings for opponents, ensuring his fighter doesn’t give anyone a chance to exploit any weaknesses.
While there is no doubt his goal is to correct any mistakes and ensure Makhachev enters the Octagon sharper than ever, with Khabib in his corner, the champ’s preparation looks next-level, as he said, “Islam will be back soon.”
Recently, Team Khabib’s manager confirmed that Islam Makhachev’s contract for his next fight hasn’t been signed yet. However, the team is preparing for January 18, as they’ve been given the date and accepted it. They’re expecting the opponent to be Arman Tsarukyan, though nothing is official yet.

Khabib Nurmagomedov had previously announced his full retirement from MMA, stating he wouldn’t even corner fighters.
