Jorge Masvidal is currently hitting the pads to prepare for his boxing bout against his old rival Nate Diaz. Masvidal and Diaz retired from the octagon a while back and bid farewell to the game of MMA in some fashion. But as it turns out, Masvidal might not have walked away from the world of MMA for good. He recently revealed that he didn’t like how his MMA career in the UFC ended.
Jorge Masvidal is an elite kickboxer who has beaten some of the best fighters inside the octagon. Masvidal previously fought Nate Diaz in the BMF bout, but he is set to take on Diaz again and emerge victorious against him in the ring, too.
Jorge Masvidal reveals his plans to make a return to the Octagon
Jorge Masvidal last fought in the octagon last year and lost a decision to Gilbert Burns throughout the course of three rounds. As good of a striker, Jorge’s grappling and wrestling ability is still under doubt. He got taken down a couple of times by Burns, and even in the championship fight against Kamaru, he wasn’t able to do much in the five rounds. In a recent interview, Jorge said,
I can’t go out on a fu*king L, either so Im coming back to rearrange someone’s face, or faces.
Masvidal realized father time was not for him a year into his retirement. He still wants to scrap in the octagon. Masvidal made it clear that he does want to fight again in the UFC, as it does not sit well with him that he lost his last fight. He wants to end his MMA career on a high rather than a deficit. Jorge Masvidal has fought fir the title two times during the course of his career, it’ll be tough for him to contend for the championship title again.
Jorge Masvidal is a glorified knockout artist and holds the record for the fastest knockout in the company when he knocked out Ben Askren in the first seven seconds of their bout. Masvidal and Diaz have met before in the octagon, and Jorge won via doctor’s stoppage in the third round of their fight. Diaz suffered a huge cut above his eye and lost the bout. It’ll be interesting to see what happens when Jorge makes a return to the UFC.
