Rivalries in combat sports are often intense, and when fighters don’t like each other, they won’t hesitate to take shots. A prime example is the ongoing beef between Team Khabib and Team Conor, where both sides constantly go at each other. Now, the rivalry between Jon Jones and Colby Covington is getting heated. After ‘Chaos’ blamed Donald Trump’s campaign for his loss, Jones fired back, taking a dig at Covington making the rivalry even more personal and exciting.
To give context, Covington recently blamed his loss to Joaquin Buckley at UFC Tampa on a lack of preparation. He said his focus was diverted to Donald Trump’s campaign, which kept him out of the gym. Covington added that he came in on short notice without a full training camp, doing it for the company and the fans.
To which now, Jones took a jab at Colby Covington, sarcastically thanking him for skipping training to help President Trump. He mocked Covington’s claim, saying everyone appreciates the “sacrifice” and added that at least he got to see Jones win.
In his words, “Big shoutout to Colby Covington for skipping training to get President Trump ‘ready’—we all appreciate the sacrifice. At least he got to see me win.”

Jon Jones Loves To See Colby Covington Failing Repeatedly
Jon Jones couldn’t help but enjoy watching Colby Covington’s brutal loss at UFC Tampa, where Joaquin Buckley dominated ‘Chaos’ before the doctor stopped the fight in the third round. It was Covington’s second straight loss, following a year-long hiatus after his defeat to Leon Edwards at UFC 296.
Before the fight, Covington reignited his long-running feud with Jones, taking verbal shots at the UFC Heavyweight Champion. The tension dates back to their college days as roommates, and their rivalry has only gotten nastier. Jones, being Jones, couldn’t resist trolling Covington on X, saying he finds it “so much fun” watching him fail.
