Jon Jones last fought for the Heavyweight title in the Octagon. Since then, he has made it clear that he wants to take on Stipe Miocic in near future in the UFC. It seems that Jon is looking further into the future, as the two-division champion was spotted giving his preference for an opponent for the Heavyweight title defense.
Alex Pereira is currently one of the biggest superstars in the UFC. He is currently ruling Jon’s previous decision, the Light Heavyweight. Pereira has made some big waves since signing for the UFC, and as it seems, a bout against the Brazilian kickboxer is something legend Jon Jones is interested in.
Pereira is One of the Most Polarizing Figures: Jones
Two-division champion Jon Jones is looking at all the plausible options for himself in the cage. The man has been called out multiple times by the interim Heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall in the octagon. Jon is one of the most active fighters on his social media handle. In a conversation with MMA fans, he said,
Pereira is one of the most polarizing figures the sport has ever seen.
Jon Jones clarified that he would rather fight Alex Pereira than Tom Aspinall because Pereira is a much bigger fighter in terms of reputation than the Englishman. Pereira has become the undisputed champion at two weight divisions in the cage. He also beat five former champions in his first nine fights in the UFC. It seems like the Brazilian has impressed the Heavyweight champion in the company.
Jones is preparing to take on Stipe Miocic in the next few months. Jon Jones was called out multiple times by Tom Aspinall in the cage before, but he made it clear he had no intentions of getting into a fight against him. The Heavyweight division is in an interesting spot with two champions, undisputed and interim. It will be interesting to see what happens in the Heavyweight division of the UFC soon.
