UFC introduced the concept of custom shorts in UFC 300, and it quickly gained popularity, with both fans and fighters embracing the idea. Fans often create excitement whenever new features are added to the sport. Recently, there’s been a lot of buzz around UFC 309 as the Heavyweight GOAT, Jon Jones, is set to make his return to the Octagon after nearly a year. Jones recently received his custom shorts and reacted to them in a genuinely candid way.
When Venum, UFC’s official outfitter, revealed Jones’ new fight shorts design for UFC 309, the Heavyweight champion couldn’t hide his excitement. Upon seeing the shorts, he exclaimed with enthusiasm, saying “really cool” multiple times.
“That’s really cool. That’s really, really cool. I’m so excited to [wear] there. The lion. It’s got my favorite bible verse. It’s got the cross. The last name. Let’s go. I’m probably gonna wear them to sleep tonight, not gonna lie,” ‘Bones’ remarked while holding the shorts in his hands.
The heavyweight champion will defend his title against Stipe Miocic this weekend at UFC 309. This fight was one of the most awaited fights of the year. Fans are excited to see their fan favorite, Bones, back in action. However, with new shorts just revealed by UFC, fans must be excited to see Jones in them.
UFC 309 – Jon Jones vs. Stipe Miocic: Fight Details
The fight is slated for Madison Square Garden in New York City, the same venue it was originally supposed to take place a year ago. This matchup will see Jones returning to the Octagon after more than a year, and it’s likely to be the final bout for both Jones and Miocic as they near retirement. In the U.S., the event begins with early prelims at 6 p.m. ET / 3 p.m. PT, followed by prelims at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT.
Additionally, the main card is at 10 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. PT. U.K. fans can catch the early prelims at 12 a.m. BST on Sunday, Nov. 17, with prelims at 2 a.m. BST and the main card at 4 a.m. BST. U.S. viewers can stream on ESPN+, while U.K. fans can watch the early prelims on UFC Fight Pass and the rest on TNT Sports and Discovery+. Being a pay-per-view event, there is a fee to watch.
