Joe Rogan looks quite excited for a super fight between Islam Makhachev and Ilia Topuria. Despite the two fighters belonging to different weight classes, the narrative of them locking horns has enthralled fans. It all began when Ilia Topuria called out the UFC lightweight champion after his victory at UFC 312. Putting Renato Moicano over in the first round, Makhachev further solidified his status as the king of the lightweight division.
Well, being the featherweight champion, Topuria also seems to be looking to have the cream of the lightweight crop. Interestingly, while the bout has not been confirmed, UFC color commentator Joe Rogan is already pushing the narrative.

He also opined that Alexander Volkanovski should be fighting the promising Diego Lopes next. Well, while the prospects are quite interesting, these are just speculations. There is still the possibility of Ilia Topuria taking on ‘Volk’ in a championship rematch. Thus, nothing can be said until Dana White makes it official. But that is not stopping Ilia Topuria from taking shots at the Dagestani champion.

Ilia Topuria has been one of the most dominant fighters in the UFC at the moment. Knocking out the likes of Alexander Volkanovski and Max Holloway back to back, ‘El Matador’ has established himself as one of the best strikers. Speaking on ‘MainEventTV’ recently, Topuria claimed himself as the ‘best’ fighter at 155 lbs.
“I’m the best fighter in the world. I know I can do with him whatever I wanna do, because I know that I’m much better than him,” ‘El Matador’ stated.
