Joe Rogan has been associated with the UFC since the absolute beginning. He has been a commentator for over two decades now. Being associated with the UFC for so long, Joe definitely knows a thing or two about how things are done in the company. On his show the Joe Rogan experience he was seen talking about how the weight classes exist in the UFC and pointed a major flaw in them.
Joe Rogan in a podcast episode with Brian Simpson was spotted talking about everything MMA and much more.
Joe Rogan on UFC’s flaws
Joe Rogan is a die hard fan of mixed martial arts. The UFC commentator was seen talking about how majority of the fighters cut a ton of weight in order to fight in the UFC. He talked about different weight classes in the company and emphasized upon a major flaw in the organization. Rogan said,
I think they should have several more. I think they should have one higher. All throughout the range. I feel like there should be one every ten pounds. And right now we have these giant gaps that don’t necessarily make sense like we have a huge gap from 155 to 170.
Rogan made it clear that there should be a bit more weight classes in the UFC. According to the commentator there should be one every ten pounds. Rogan clearly wants to see more weight classes so the matchups can be fair. Joe himself used to be a martial artist and has featured in fights before so he definitely knows what he’s talking about.
This is not the first time Rogan has vouched for more weight classes as he was previously seen emphasizing on many more divisions in the UFC so it can accommodate the fighters more precisely. It’ll be interesting to see if UFC president Dana White is going to pay any heed Joe Rogan’s advice and introduce more divisions in the UFC.
