Fans were buzzing with excitement for the heavyweight clash between Jon Jones and Tom Aspinall, but Joe Rogan just dropped a bombshell update. After Jones’ big win over Stipe Miocic at UFC 309, Joe Rogan also defended Jones, calling him the greatest of all time and suggesting he doesn’t have to follow the same rules as other fighters.
Rogan suggests ‘Bones’ should consider taking 6-8 months off without any pressure following his recent KO of Stipe Miocic. Rogan believes fans and media should stop asking about his next fight and even mentions that Jones could take up to a year off and return for a title fight. He stresses that Jones should be given time without scrutiny.
“Give the man all the time he wants. He could fight whenever he wants to fight. That’s Jon Jones—he’s the GOAT. So leave him alone. If he decides one day to come back and wants to fight Tom Aspinall for the heavyweight title, let him do it,”
While Joe Rogan recently dismissed the rumors about a Jon Jones vs. Tom Aspinall super fight, the heavyweight title matchup seems unlikely, according to the UFC commentator. However, there’s still been no official word from Jon Jones, leaving fans eagerly waiting for confirmation from the champion himself.
Jan Blachowicz Reacts To Jon Jones Calling Out Alex Pereira, Says He’s “Afraid” Of Tom Aspinall
Fans are excited for a potential Jones vs. Aspinall heavyweight fight, with Dana White also supporting the matchup. However, Jones has shown more interest in facing Alex Pereira, leading to debate. Jan Blachowicz believes Jones is avoiding Aspinall, who he sees as a real threat. Blachowicz thinks Jones would find it easier to control Pereira, but Aspinall would present a much tougher challenge.
“Because Aspinall is someone who can really stop him and beat him. I think he believes if he can fight against Pereira, he can take him down, control him, maybe something like this. With Aspinall, it will be not so easy.” Blachowicz told MMA Fighting.

Blachowicz thinks Jones prefers fighting Alex Pereira because Pereira is a big UFC star, and Jones knows what he’s capable of. However, Blachowicz believes Jones should fight Aspinall instead but feels Jones might be avoiding Aspinall because he’s afraid of losing to him.
