Former light heavyweight champions Jiri Prochazka and Jamahal Hill are set to clash at UFC 311 on January 18, with the event taking place at the new Intuit Dome in Los Angeles. The matchup was announced during the UFC Macau post-fight show, with Prochazka also confirming it on Instagram. MMA Fighting later verified the bout on Saturday.
Both fighters are coming off losses in a division currently dominated by Alex Pereira. Prochazka, now 1-2 in his last three fights, suffered back-to-back defeats to Pereira—losing his title at UFC 295 and again at UFC 303. Pereira, meanwhile, has solidified himself as one of the UFC’s most active champions.
This year, he successfully defended his title at UFC 300, UFC 303, and UFC 307, all via knockouts. His latest win against Khalil Rountree Jr. was a grueling contest, marking the first time an opponent pushed him past the third round. Despite the challenge, Pereira emerged victorious, further cementing his reign.
The fight has not yet been officially confirmed by UFC officials. However, with both fighters coming off losses in their previous bouts, they will be looking to bounce back and claim victory.
