Jiri Prochazka is looking to have a go at Alex Pereira one more time. Having faced the UFC light heavyweight champion twice, the Samurai has been defeated on both occasions. However, instead of giving up, Prochazka is looking at the challenge in a unique approach. As per the former UFC champion, he sees Pereira as the ‘Final Boss’ in a game that he needs to overcome.
In a recent interaction with Michael Bisping on the ‘Believe You Me’ podcast, Prochazka explained his reasoning behind his wish to fight Poatan again. The 32-year-old mentioned that Pereira inspires him to push himself further and get better each day.
“Maybe it can be funny for somebody but still I believe I can fight them and I can win the fight. It’s like in the game, just don’t give up. Find a way, how to overcome yourself. How to be better person, how to be better fighter, and find a way how to win. How to win this level, that’s all. Like you said I’m very glad that he showed me biggest mistakes,” Prochazka said.
Well, as a matter of fact, Prochazka might get his chance soon. Facing off against Jamahal Hill on January 11, the duo will enter a potential number-one contender eliminator. Whoever wins will have the chance to have a go at the UFC light heavyweight championship title. And if Pereira is still the champion by then, Prochazka might get his trilogy fight wish fulfilled. Meanwhile, things are looking quite heated between Hill and Prochazka as their matchup comes closer.
Jamahal Hill Heats Up Things With Jiri Prochazka Trash Talk
Jiri Prochazka fired the initial shots at Jamahal Hill and Magomed Ankalaev. He stated that both the fighters “did nothing” to deserve a title shot. While Ankalaev hit back saying that Prochazka lost two of his last three fights, Hill has taken a more stern approach. Taking to YouTube, the former light heavyweight champ went off on the Czech Samurai.
“We had the same opponent in our last fight, right? In your last performance, you got dominated and knocked out. You got dominated, and I got caught. There’s a huge difference. You’ve even got your ponytail leaning to the left. I hope you wear that ponytail in our fight so I can lean it back to the right for you. We can compare every performance—while I put on dominant performances, you survive and scrape by with a win. We’re not the same,” said Hill.
