Remember when Khalil Rountree nearly shocked the world at UFC 307? He had champ Alex Pereira on the ropes for two rounds. But then, as they say, the tables turned. Pereira rallied and finished Rountree in the fourth. It was a valiant effort that had fans talking. But Jamahal Hill wasn’t impressed, and now, he is not pulling any punches.
Hill seemed downright dismissive of Rountree’s performance. He seems to have got a bone to pick, and he’s not shy about it. The former light heavyweight champion does not consider ‘The War Horse’ even in the same category as himself.
“The way that Pereira beat Khalil, for one – Pereira couldn’t beat me fighting that way… If anybody thinks that Khalil is on my level, let’s see him go and win a fight because he’s not even – we’re not even in the same bracket right now,” Hill told Sportskeeda.
Khalil Rountree, for his part, has not responded to any type of criticism from Jamahal Hill. He is still recovering from the injuries sustained by fighting the powerful Alex Pereira. Despite the loss, his stock in the UFC rose immensely, and he became a fan favorite in a single night.
Khalil Rountree Ready To Take On Anyone That Will Get Him Another Title Shot
Rountree‘s recent title fight against Alex Pereira was nothing short of a barnburner. The underdog nearly pulled off a massive upset at UFC 307. Despite falling short, Rountree’s stock has skyrocketed in the aftermath.
Now, the light heavyweight contender is hungry for more. He is not content with moral victories or pats on the back. Khalil Rountree wants another crack at UFC gold, and he is willing to fight anyone to get there.

“I think right now any name in the top five or within title contention to me, makes sense. But I would like to continue to fight people within the top five so I can get another shot at the title,” said Rountree via MMA Junkie.
One name that keeps popping up is Jamahal Hill. They were supposed to throw down at UFC 303, but fate had other plans. Could fans see this matchup rebooked? Khalil Rountree is not ruling it out, but he’s not fixated on it either. Only time will tell if they both meet in the Octagon!
