Alex Pereira: The Wrestler
In an interview with Daniel Cormier, Islam refuted Cormier’s statement that Poatan could become the wrestling world champion within two years of training. Makhachev laughed at his claim and clarified that the Brazilian couldn’t get close to the Olympic championship level quickly. Pereira said,
It’s not my fault that some guys take longer to learn. Makhachev maybe took way longer to learn wrestling… you gotta accept that I’m different.
Alex Pereira made it clear that he is a fast learner, unlike Islam, who might have taken a bit too long to improve his wrestling. He revealed that he is different and can ace any realm of mixed martial arts in the cage. Pereira was taken down by his former opponents, but none inflicted heavy damage on him inside the octagon. Islam believes that Magomed Ankhalaev can put down Pereira and finish him there.
