Jon Jones is widely considered to be the best MMA fighter of all time. He has seemingly accomplished everything that there is in the sport. Having conquered the light heavyweight division, he moved to the heavyweight division last year.
In his very first fight, Jones secured the heavyweight championship. Following this, he was scheduled to take on Stipe Miocic. However, he ended up suffering an injury and the fight was postponed.
While a date for Jon Jones’s fight against Stipe Miocic has not yet been confirmed, it is confirmed that the fight will happen.
Interestingly, despite a date for Jones’ next fight not being announced yet, there are a lot of discussions surrounding his fight following Stipe Miocic.
Is Jon Jones avoiding Tom Aspinall?
Many suggested that Jon Jones would take on Tom Aspinall following his fight against Stipe Miocic. However, Alex Pereira’s intentions of moving up to the heavyweight division might change the scenario.
Moreover, it looks like Jones is more interested in a fight against Pereira than Aspinall. Speaking about the same, Daniel Cormier suggested that Jones is playing smart in terms of finding a less risky matchup and said:
“I love what Jon is doing in terms of being smart, finding the right matchup. I don’t know that it will fly. These athletes are much smarter today than they were before, and I believe it makes for the sport to be even more interesting.”

“I love it. I love what Jon is doing, love what Alex is doing, but I think Jon is choosing: ‘Dude, I’m not fighting Tom Aspinall. Have you seen Tom Aspinall?’”
That said, it will be interesting to see what lies ahead in Jon Jones’ future inside the octagon.
