Israel Adesanya can return to face the UFC middleweight champion Dricus du Plessis at UFC 305.
It was recently announced that UFC will be heading back to Australia in August this year for its UFC 305 pay-per-view. The promotion’s last event in Australia took place last year in Sydney when Adesanya headlined the card against Sean Strickland.
Despite being a massive favorite going into the fight, he ended up losing the fight in what was a massive upset. Since then, the UFC middleweight championship has changed hands and is now with Dricus du Plessis. With another event in Australia being announced, it is being reported that Israel Adesanya might headline the card.
It is worth noting that nothing is confirmed at the moment and these are just speculations. However, it would make sense for the card to be headlined by a middleweight championship fight between Adesanya and du Plessis. That said, it remains to be seen if the two lock horns inside the octagon later this year or not.

However, the offer was rejected by du Plessis who was in action in January this year against Sean Strickland. The South African fighter needed some time to recover and get back to his best before accepting a fight against Adesanya after winning his title.
As a result, the promotion opted for a light heavyweight championship bout between Alex Periera and Jamahal Hill to headline the historic UFC 300 card in April.
