Israel Adesanya has opened up about why Joe Rogan stopped interviewing fighters after they get knocked out since the iconic Alistair Overeem fight.
Back at UFC 203, Alistair Overeem took on Stipe Miocic for the heavyweight championship. Overeem was knocked out after significant ground and pound. Shortly after being knocked out, Overeem was interviewed by Joe Rogan.
This led to a massive outrage on social media as Alistair Overeem was seemingly still concussed while the interview. Speaking about the same during his recent appearance on Theo Von’s podcast recently, Israel Adesanya appreciated Joe Rogan for not interviewing fighters after they have been knocked out. He said:
“I mean, that’s why Joe, shoutout to him, he stopped interviewing guys after they’ve been knocked out.Yeah, he said that. I think it was after the. Overeem fight. Overeem did a famous meme saying, he says, ‘I clearly felt a tap’ cause he had Stipe in a guillotine and he thought he tapped. But again, he just got rocked so, your brain is not really all there. I’ve been knocked out before, like cold – once shoutout to Pereira. I returned the favor.”
